Deacon’s Fund
The Deacon’s Fund is a fund dedicated to the needs of members in our church family and/or those outside of our church community. The money collected is used to offer temporary financial assistance for any emergencies. One the first Sunday of every month, the deacons take a collection for the Deacon’s Fund.
Local Food Pantries
In the past, FBCD has supported local food pantries and food drives hosted by local organizations and grocery stores like Stop & Shop.
Boston Project Ministries
Summer Missions Program
We have been partnering with the Boston Project Ministries for many years in hosting youth during their yearly Summer Mission Program. The Boston Project is a Christian community development organization that has engaged and supported the neighborhood and community. The Summer Missions Program offers week-long, faith-based, urban-learning experiences for youth that include service projects and activities centered on a scripture theme.
Tech Goes Home
FBCD has partnered with the Tech Goes Home by becoming a site for a 15-hour Tech Goes Home training program. This program offers basic computer and internet training for our members for a low-cost fee. At the end of the program, participants walk away empowered by their new digital literacy skills and a new tablet computer to take home.
New England Center for Arts and Technology
Culinary Arts Job Training
Our newest partnership is with the New England Center for Arts and Technology (NECAT) where our Pastor Dana sits on the Board of Directors. Our role in this partnership is to help provide new skills for those looking for a second chance in life, particularly single mothers, ex-prisoners, and those in recovery from drugs. Anyone needing this second chance is invited to participate in a wonderful Culinary Arts Job Training program provided by NECAT free of charge.
