Thank you to the George B. Henderson Foundation for such generosity. Due to their contribution, the stained-glass windows of First Baptist Church of Dorchester have been able to be successfully restored. The restoration of the windows provides continual inspiration and aid in sharing the gospel to all that view them. Thank you again to the George B. Henderson Foundation!
The stained glass window restoration was a three-part project funded by two grants from the Henderson Foundation and church donations that spanned over the course of three years.
This project helped First Baptist Church replace aging 113-year-old, cracked, and sagging stained glass windows to their former glory. (See initial news feature on the Dorchester Reporter.) A total of thirteen windows were taken for extensive restoration to the Stained Glass Resources Co. studio in Hampden, Mass.
The first phase of the project launched in August 2020. Phase 1 and Phase 2 of the restoration completed in 2021. (See progress news feature on the Dorchester Reporter.) The final phase completed in full in April 2023 and the windows returned home beautifully restored.
